Student Pilot License

Student Pilot License (or SPL in short) is the first step toward attaining your dream of acquiring Commercial or Private Pilot License! If you are interested in flying airplanes, you should consider for applying for (and own) an SPL. It’s a prerequisite for flying and pilot training. It’s after acquiring an SPL that candidates can move ahead to superior licenses just like the PPL, CPL and ATPL.

First of all, applying for (and getting) SPL isn’t that complex as it might seems. No Prior Pilot training is required to obtain SPL.

Are you familiar with Learner’s License in Driving? SPL is similar to learner’s license! It is some thing that we should own before we discover ways to fly and handle aircraft! So no Prior Pilot training is needed before one apply for it! One must own SPL to start flying training!

Next comes the fees and money matter. CPL and PPL training programs are well known for its huge amount of fees. This is the primary motive why folks believe that obtaining an SPL is Expensive too! but it is not true and accurate. Student Pilot License is not as expensive as its counterparts. You can still practice for it and gain it at a nominal rate.

Eligibility

Age: Candidate must be at least 16 years of age, when he or she is applying for the license.

Minimum educational qualification: Candidate should have completed 10th board exam from a recognized board.

Medical certificate: Candidate must have Class 2 Medical certificate. Should be medically fit as per the DGCA guidelines.

These are the three main requirements. If you satisfy the above mentioned requirements, you may enroll for SPL course at a Flying School if required.

As soon as organized, you may get in contact with any Flying or Pilot Training school and take SPL exam. It’s an oral test and would be held via the Chief Instructor at the school or DGCA representative.

Questions testing primary knowledge of subjects like Aviation Navigation, Atmosphere, Aircraft and Engines, Air Regulation and Aviation Meteorology will be asked.
